The Versus Trade demo is a MetaTrader 5 account with $10,000 in virtual funds and no expiry date, carrying the same instruments and conditions as the Standard and Pro live accounts. It will not convert into a live account — that is a separate registration — and it cannot test the part of this broker that matters most to a Singapore trader: getting money in and out.

Why a Singapore trader should start on demo

The demo runs on the same London-time server as the live account, so it is the cheapest way to find out that the daily candle does not close at Singapore midnight and that the deepest liquidity arrives after 20:00 SGT — before that discovery costs money.

From demo to live: there is no upgrade button

The broker states a demo cannot be converted into a live account — a live account is a separate registration with its own document check. Before you open one, read the money path: the balance will be held in USD, not SGD, and the method you fund with decides the order in which the broker can return it.

Opening the demo in MetaTrader 5

The demo is created from the broker's client area and then connected in MetaTrader 5 — the desktop build for Windows or macOS, the mobile app, or the web terminal. The same MT5 installation can hold a demo and a live account side by side, which is the sane way to compare them.

It starts with $10,000 in virtual funds and the broker states there is no time limit on it. Minimum order size is 0.01 lots, the same as on a live account.

What a demo actually proves — and what it cannot

A demo is honest about three things: whether the platform suits you, whether your strategy survives contact with real price movement, and how the instrument list behaves in the hours you can actually trade from Singapore. A demo cannot reprice a contract for difference the way a funded account experiences it.

It is silent about everything downstream of the trade. It does not test how long a withdrawal takes, whether documents get asked for, how the broker prices your order when liquidity thins, or what happens when the spread on gold widens during a release. One Singapore customer reported a Pro-account XAUUSD spread spiking far beyond its usual level during volatile conditions — the sort of thing a demo, running on the same feed but without your money in it, never makes you feel. Sudden widening during releases is slippage in practice.

Treat the virtual balance as a platform test, not a profit forecast. $10,000 of virtual money produces virtual results, and the account size most people actually open is $10 or $100. Before the first live order, work the numbers through on the lot size page.

Going live: the demo does not convert

There is no upgrade path. The broker states a demo cannot be converted into a live account — you open a live account separately, verify documents, and fund it.

That is a good moment to read the money path first: the account will be denominated in USD, not SGD, and the way you fund it decides the order in which the broker can return it.

No. The broker states a demo cannot be converted — a live account is a separate registration with its own verification.
