MetaTrader 5 is the only platform Versus Trade offers — no MT4, no cTrader. The broker publishes builds for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android plus a browser terminal, and the trade server runs on London time. For a Singapore trader that matters twice: the daily candle does not close at Singapore midnight, and the liquid London–New York overlap falls between 20:00 and midnight SGT.

Where to get MetaTrader 5 for this broker

The broker publishes MT5 downloads for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, and a web terminal that needs no install. There is also a branded Versus Trade app, listed in the Singapore storefronts of both the App Store and Google Play. MetaTrader 5 is the current generation of the MetaTrader platform family.

Two credentials are involved and they are not interchangeable. The client area — deposits, withdrawals, documents — uses the email you registered with. MetaTrader itself uses the trading account number, the trading password, and the broker's server chosen from the platform list. The investor password shows positions read-only and cannot place orders.

Reading the platform clock from Singapore

Singapore runs on UTC+8 all year with no daylight saving. The MT5 server runs on London time, which shifts against Singapore twice a year. Your platform's daily candle therefore opens and closes on the server's day, not yours — a detail that quietly breaks daily-level levels drawn by anyone assuming local midnight.

In Singapore hours the sessions land like this: Tokyo roughly 08:00–17:00 SGT, London 15:00–00:00 SGT, New York 20:00–05:00 SGT. The London–New York overlap — the deepest liquidity of the day — runs 20:00 to midnight SGT. In the northern winter each of those shifts an hour later. The session boundaries used here follow the standard forex trading sessions.

These are calculated from standard session hours and Singapore's UTC+8, not published by the broker. Check the server clock in your own terminal before you rely on them.

When the spread does not match the shop window

Spreads here are floating. "From 0.4 pips" on Standard, "from 0.2" on Pro and "from 0.0" on Raw Spread describe the best case on the most liquid instrument at the most liquid moment, not a ceiling.

One Singapore customer reported on Trustpilot that a Pro-account XAUUSD spread, usually around 12 points, occasionally spiked to far higher levels, and that support attributed it to slippage during volatile conditions. That is one customer's account and not a company statement — but it points at the check worth making: watch the spread on your instrument in the terminal across a news release before you size a position around it. Widening of this kind is usually slippage rather than a change in the advertised spread.

Nothing in the client agreement bans trading around news. What it does reserve is the right to reject orders relying on price latency or arbitrage, or that the broker judges to be market abuse. If pricing looks wrong on your account rather than on the market, take it to support in writing.

No MT4, no cTrader — what that rules out

The broker's published account range is MT5-only, and no MT4 download or MT4 account type appears on its site. If your strategy lives in an MT4 expert advisor, it does not move across — MQL4 and MQL5 are different languages, and the indicator ecosystem does not transfer either.

Expert Advisors are supported on MT5, including on the Raw Spread account, with order sizes from 0.01 to 200 lots, market execution, margin call at 30% and stop out at 0%. Sizing those orders is covered on the lot size page.

Frequently asked questions

Does Versus Trade support MT4?
No. The broker's published platform range is MetaTrader 5 only — there is no MT4 account type or MT4 download on its site, and MT4 expert advisors will not run on it.
What time zone does the Versus Trade MT5 server use?
The trade server runs on London time, not Singapore time. Singapore is UTC+8 with no daylight saving, so the offset changes twice a year and the daily candle does not close at local midnight.
When is the most liquid time to trade from Singapore?
The London–New York overlap, roughly 20:00 to midnight SGT, and an hour later during the northern winter. These are calculated from standard session hours, not published by the broker.
Why did my spread widen far beyond the advertised figure?
Spreads are floating and the advertised figures are best-case starting points. Widening around news releases and in thin liquidity is normal on this pricing model; check your instrument's behaviour in the terminal before sizing a position.
