The day’s biggest market stories — updated daily.

This page tracks the themes moving markets from the broker's news feed and translates their timing into Singapore hours. The releases that move the instruments on this account almost all land in the Singapore evening and night.

When these releases land in Singapore time

Singapore is UTC+8 with no daylight saving, so the offset to the markets that move prices changes twice a year while local time stays put.

US data — inflation prints, payrolls, Federal Reserve decisions — is released in the New York morning, which is the Singapore evening and night. The London session runs 15:00–00:00 SGT and New York 20:00–05:00 SGT, and their overlap at 20:00–00:00 SGT is where the day's liquidity concentrates. In the northern winter each shifts an hour later. These are the standard forex trading sessions converted to Singapore time.

The practical consequence for a Singapore trader is unusual: the quiet hours are the local working day, and the volatile hours arrive after dinner. A strategy built on London-open behaviour is a mid-afternoon strategy here.

Where these themes meet the instrument list

The themes above touch this account through a short list: gold and WTI among commodities, the major currency pairs, and the index CFDs. Versus Pairs, the broker's own two-asset instruments, price one of these against another and trade Monday to Friday from 06:05 to 05:59 SGT. All of them trade as contract for difference instruments on this account.

Nothing on this page tells you what to do with any of it. Headlines describe what has already been priced; the feed's date is shown so you can judge how stale it is.

Frequently asked questions

Is this page a trading signal?
No. It summarises headlines from a news feed with their date attached. It contains no forecasts, no recommendations and no signals.
When do US releases land in Singapore time?
In the Singapore evening and night. The New York session runs roughly 20:00–05:00 SGT, and the London–New York overlap at 20:00–00:00 SGT carries the deepest liquidity of the day.
How current is this page?
The feed carries its own update date, shown on the page. If that date is old, treat the themes as historical rather than current.
